Our last big event was....
You will, no doubt, be aware of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria and the plight of the refugees fleeing from this warzone is a daily feature on news programmes and in the press. We felt compelled to respond to this in some way and therefore we are organising a charity music evening to raise funds that will be sent to a charity operating in this area. The concert will be held in Langcliffe Institute on Saturday 14th November starting at 7.00pm.
Many of the groups and musicians we have met through our work with the shop are interested in taking part and there will be quite a variety of music – a “miscellany” in the true sense of the word. So far we have:
· A baroque recorder ensemble
· A classical pianist
· A classical singer
· A flamenco / classical guitarist
· A rock/pop band
· Guitarists from our monthly guitar session (performing together and individually)
· A ukulele trio
· A folk duo
· We also have a local author reading a story about refugees.
And, of course, there will be the ever popular opportunity to have a Langcliffe style singalong and a raffle. Although the entry is going to be free there will be a retiring collection and to keeps costs to a minimum we’re encouraging everyone to bring their own refreshments. In this way we will maximise the amount we can send to this good cause
We are producing tickets for the event to have an idea of how many people we will need to accommodate in the Institute so please get in touch to reserve your “seat” (please use 07880 783783 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
